First Communion

At Lord of Life, the age of a child’s First Communion is a parental decision made in consultation with the Pastor. Many choose 4th grade as an appropriate time, while others choose a time earlier or later. While some communion instruction is incorporated in Session 2 of Quest to help children deepen their understanding of the Sacrament, the majority of the material is covered in a 4-hour Saturday session beginning with a Seder Meal for background then ending with First Communion Rehearsal.
