WelcomeLord of Life is a vibrant and growing congregation whose worship life, learning moments, and serving opportunities are open to all people. We started as a mission congregation in 1988, and have since expanded into a multi-generational congregation that serves as a mission center for Northern Cincinnati.
Together, we hope to live, share, and celebrate with all people, God’s love in Jesus Christ. How do we do that? We offer a variety of worship opportunities each week, coupled with all kinds of serving and learning moments. These help us grow into being the body of Christ in the world. We love deeply. We share generously. We take hospitality seriously.
If you are looking for a place to put down spiritual roots, I invite you to come and explore a life of faith with us here at Lord of Life.
At Lord of Life, Youth Ministries are vital. LOL is fortunate that we have strong programs with great volunteers.
Pastor Deb Dingus has over 10 years experience as a pastor. Besides the expected spiritual strengths and gifts, she is extremely strong in education, working with youth, and reaching out to the community. She is a relationship builder who uses her many gifts to resolve conflict so that each person's view are considered and a consensus is constructed. She has experience creating mentoring relationships that promote individual and collective spiritual growth. In addition, she is gifted in training lay individuals to lead and carry out ministries. Pastor Deb is married with three young children.
My name is Bob Akins. I am coming to Lord of Life after a 40 year career as a Nurse Anesthetist. Most recently practicing at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. My wife of 42 years Donna and I are excited about becoming part of your family. Donna is a Registered nurse at Children's Medical Center in Dayton. We have 4 children and 9 Grandchildren aging from 7 weeks to 15 years. We are fortunate that 3 of the families live close enough that we can be an active part of their families. Sarah and Chad live in Clayton Ohio (Dayton Suburb). Deb and Tom live in Columbus, Pete and Melissa live just down I75 in North Cincinnati. Andy and Chris live in Springhill TN. Donna and I have lived in Englewood OH for the past 19 years. Englewood is on the north side of I70 just west of the Dayton Airport.
My outreach passion is the Lakota Sioux of South Dakota. They are a wonderful people who need our help. More about that as the year goes on.
Donna and I are currently members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Dayton. We have been involved in the choir, teaching Sunday school and I was Council president for 10 years back in the early 1990's. We are looking forward to meeting each of you and sharing your families throughout the coming year.
