Preschool Open House
Thursday, January 11
6 - 7:30 pm
Are you interested in learning more about our preschool programs? Please join us for our annual Open House to tour our wonderful school and meet our amazing teachers! Children are welcome to attend with parents. We offer half-day programs for 2 1/2 , 3, 4 and 5 year olds.
Open enrollment for the 2018-19 school year will begin at 6 pm that evening and will be completed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Do you need more offering envelopes? We have moved to a cost-effective and environmentally friendly process of giving out envelopes to only those families that need them. Envelopes are not dated so none are wasted. Contact Cara in the office and she will record your new envelope number. You can pick up your envelopes in the office.
We Are Always Open For Worship
Weekend worship services will always be held as scheduled, regardless of weather conditions.
During the coming months of snow and ice, Lord of Life will follow the Lakota Local School District. If the schools close or delay, due to inclement weather, the Lord of Life office and preschool will close or delay, and planned activities for that day will be postponed or cancelled. Individual ministry groups (choirs, band, Bible studies) are at the discretion of the leaders. Please keep your eyes on your email and/or Facebook for details.
Your safety is very important to us – if you do not feel comfortable driving, please stay home! Here’s wishing you a safe winter.
Wednesday evening classes
January 10, 17, 24, 31
Worship with First Communion
Followed by a Congregational Luncheon
Sunday, February 4, 2018, 11 am
At Lord of Life, the age of First Communion is a personal decision made in consultation with the Pastor. Many individuals choose 4th grade as an appropriate time for a child, while others may choose to learn at an older or younger age. Anyone, regardless of age, who wishes to begin receiving Holy Communion is welcome to come and explore this awesome mystery! Throughout these four weeks, children and their parents will learn more about communion in engaging ways as we talk about the importance of eating together, explore the use of meals in the Bible, and even bake the type of communion bread that will be used for worship on Sunday, February 4, when we celebrate this faith milestone.
If you believe your child is ready to receive communion, plan to bring them for this series of conversations. At least one parent is encouraged to attend with the child. Please RSVP to the church office by Sunday, January 7.

Come and congratulate Bob Burnette as he wraps up 30 years on the organ bench at Lord of Life. His last worship moment will be on Christmas Eve, but we’ll celebrate him Sunday, December 17.
Bob has been part of the worship and music staff from our earliest days, when Pastor Ed Williams was called to establish a mission start in the Mason/West Chester area. Bob has served faithfully through three pastors, three interns, and numerous pulpit supply pastors and interim ministers. He has led worship for over 2,000 services, including early leadership for Sunday mornings in the borrowed spaces of St. John Catholic Church and the Lakota West Freshman building, before we had a building here. Over the years, he has played for countless weddings and funerals, as well as accompanied a whole variety of musical ensembles.
On December 17, please take a moment in between 8 and 9:30 worship to greet Bob and share your memories and well wishes with him.
